The newly announced Denon AVR-S270BT 5.1-channel receiver brings surround sound with Dolby Digital, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and stereo upmixing capabilities to homes for a reasonable price.
Denon explains that it developed the receiver to serve as a versatile hub for Blu-ray players, streaming devices, and gaming consoles in a variety of home AV systems.
The AVR-S270BT receiver offers Denon’s guided setup assistant, as well as features such as HDMI ARC; the company’s Quick Select buttons, and Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming. Denon points out the receiver is rated to produce 70-watts-per-channel into 8 ohms, and the unit offers an ECO Mode to lower power consumption without impacting sound quality.
On the video side of the home AV equation, The popular home entertainment equipment manufacturer points out the 5.1-channel receiver provides 4K HDMI passthrough supporting HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG. Additionally, the receiver also supports BT.2020 wide color gamut video content.
Denon suggests that dealers can utilize its latest product in smaller rooms, as well as secondary rooms in which true immersive audio is not required or there is not enough room for the necessary speaker configuration to support formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
