A New Nest Learning Thermostat Could Be On The Way

Another leak of Google’s new consumer hardware reveals a long-awaited fourth-generation Nest Learning Thermostat and new temperature sensors, which will likely be released during or after the company’s Made by Google event next month.

The images of the new Nest Thermostat were leaked on X, formerly Twitter, and show what appear to be a new model of one of the company’s core smart home products, featuring a curved glass at the perimeter and a smoother surface compared to previous versions.

According to Google news site 9to5Google, the thermostat likely has a physical ring that rotates, and the UI has been modernized and is likely controlled by touch.

The news outlet exclusively covering Google last month covered the news of a filing with the Federal Communications Commission that suggested the new Nest Learning Thermostat would offer Soli radar, which is available on the 2020 model and is used to light up the screen when users approach and sense if anybody is around to power routines.

The leaks also include a second-generation temperature sensor that resembles a Nest Mini with no Google branding, writes 9to5Google.

Google last released an updated model of the Nest Thermostat in 2020, and the latest version of the Nest Learning Thermostat that was released in 2015.
