Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) boasts that its Zeppelin smart speaker system has already met with huge critical acclaim for its combination of design, performance and smart features. Building on this momentum, Bowers & Wilkins has announced a higher-performance version: The new Zeppelin Pro Edition.
The global home audio company states the new Zeppelin Pro Edition builds on the iconic shape of the existing Zeppelin, adding some subtle but effective upgrades to the design that only add to its appeal, including two all-new finishes: Solar Gold and Space Gray.
Together, Bowers & Wilkins continues, with a revised downlight that now offers user-selectable 15 separate color choices, each with brightness adjustment options allow integrators and homeowners to create stylish home audio solutions almost instantly.
Bowers & Wilkins explains that like its other Zeppelin products, the new Zeppelin Pro Edition is a complete speaker system that resides in one single enclosure. The key to its improved performance, according to the company is the introduction of Titanium dome tweeters that Bowers & Wilkins notes is the same driver found in the latest generation of 600 Series loudspeakers.
The company says the drivers are mounted at the far edges of the Zeppelin Pro Edition enclosure and are fully isolated from vibrations running through the cabinet generated by other, larger drive units.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
The new tweeters are paired with 90mm (3.54-inch) midrange drivers that incorporate the company’s proprietary Fixed Suspension Transducer FST technology. These are the same midrange units used in all the company’s premium floorstanding speakers the company says. Bowers & Wilkins points out these drive units have been upgraded with increased cone damping to reduce the effects of cone break-up leading to a more open midrange sound. Along with revised DSP tuning, these new drive units provide a bigger, more refined soundstage Bowers & Wilkins asserts.
Other features The Zeppelin Pro Edition speaker system offers, include built-in multiroom functionality. The British home audio company stresses that homeowners can use the multiroom functionality with other new Zeppelins in a multiroom environment or multiroom systems based on Bowers & Wilkins’ Formation range of high-resolution wireless speakers.
The Zeppelin Pro Edition incorporates smart home functions such as Apple AirPlay2, Bluetooth aptX Adaptive and Spotify Connect. The new Zeppelin also gives users access to all the music streaming services available from the Bowers & Wilkins Music app, including Deezer, Last.fm, Qobuz, TIDAL, TuneIn and more.
Bowers & Wilkins adds the app also provides the ability to provide seamless interaction with its range of wireless headphones and earbuds, which can also be controlled by the same Music app.
