CEDIA has launched a new tiered membership structure designed to provide members with tailored benefits and value. Effective Jan.1, 2025, members will be able to join at the Starter, Professional, or Premium levels.
“For the first time in CEDIA’s history, we are offering integrators a choice of benefit options that align with their needs,” comments CEDIA global president and CEO, Daryl Friedman. “We’re particularly proud to offer a new Premium level—a great value for those who want to set themselves apart and invest in their team’s education.”
Here is a closer look at CEDIA‘s new membership tiers:
CEDIA Starter Member (Your Launchpad to the Industry): The Starter membership is designed for individuals and companies just beginning their journey as smart home professionals, the trade group explains. This membership provides free-of-charge access to the Introduction to the Industry course and CEDIA Cabling & Infrastructure (CIT) training online. It also includes benefits that complement those starting out, including member pricing on CEDIA training and certification, free white papers, access to the new Member app, and free entry to CEDIA Expo.
Dues for a single-user are $199 and dues for multi-users are $299.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
CEDIA Professional Member (The Benefits You’ve Known and More): Professional membership includes all of the current benefits available to integrators, plus complementary access to CIT training and the Introduction to the Industry course—a combined $1,170 value the trade group emphasizes. Professional members can take advantage of the organization’s Market Intelligence reports, access the Design and Build Toolkit, promote their business through CEDIA’s consumer campaign, and proudly display the CEDIA member logo on all marketing materials.
Dues for the Professional Member level is $599, and regional pricing available to industry professionals.
CEDIA Premium Membership (Your Competitive Edge): The Premium membership tier offers elevated member benefits for businesses. Members receive free, unlimited access to the trade group’s online educational content and early access to events and product launches, giving members a competitive edge in the market. Premium members also gain priority listing in the CEDIA Find a Smart Home Professional service, signifying their commitment to their team’s ongoing education.
Dues for the Premium level are $999 and regional pricing is available.
In a move to increase the value for all members the trade group has also introduced several initiatives such as:
Member App: Available for iOS and Android, users can access exclusive forums to share tips and tricks, as well as the ability to find information regarding educational classes, and app users can stay up to date on the latest industry news.
Online Academy: The revamped CEDIA Online Academy includes new content and more flexibility for business owners to oversee their employees’ professional development.
CEDIA Foundation: Members can engage with the industry’s charity, dedicated to attracting new talent to the integration workforce.
Consumer Campaign: The new commercial persuading homeowners to use a CEDIA professional will be promoted by the trade group and available to members free of charge. Members will have the ability to customize the video with a call-to-action to contact their companies.
Friedman points out that as an organization it has made a greater commitment to support its members.
“CEDIA has made significant investments in its membership and in the industry over recent years,” adds Friedman. “These investments include critical advocacy work in governments around the world, a new CEDIA Member app, grassroots workforce development initiatives, and campaigns to expand the industry’s awareness to consumers and adjacent trades. We believe this first change to our dues structure in CEDIA’s history will enhance the value we deliver, ensuring our members receive even more from their membership.”
