Crestron Redesigns Series 3 Décor Shades Hardware to Be More Discreet

Crestron has redesigned its Series 3 Décor Shading Series to better hide the mechanical elements of the motorized shades and help them blend into a home’s architecture and design.

Quietly announced in a blog on Crestron’s website, the company says the updates include an end cap designed to direct attention away from the shading fabric to the end cap, black brackets and a black motor head, and sturdier hardware. All of these updates aim at helping to hide the technology and make them as unobtrusive as possible.

According to Crestron, the end cap of the Series 3 Décor shade now has a very right tolerance that “transitions the eye of the viewer from the shading fabric to the end cap.”

In addition, the company decided to make both its brackets and motor heads black, regardless of the color of the end cap. This is designed to have the shades blend in with the design of the property.

The hardware for the shades has also been upgraded to be higher quality.

Features and Specifications for Crestron’s Series 3 Décor Hardware

Features for Crestron’s Series 3 Décor hardware include a new elegant, seamless design, a sturdy bracket design, a coordinated color palette, support for either wall or ceiling-mount applications, Crestron’s QMT Series motor, and support for all power options currently offered, as well as new ones that haven’t been released yet.

With 435 color fabrics in its current color shade collection, Crestron wanted hardware to color coordinate with the fabric collection , and eventually settled on six basic options for hardware colors.

For example, white hardware should be able to coordinate with the dozens of shades of white-hued shades. The hardware now comes in a new dark gray tone to help match the different shades of gray.

The company is also considering adding new finishes, including a metallic look, according to the blog.
