D-Tools Enhances D-Tools Cloud With Inventory Management and Profitability Tools

D-Tools is launching several new features for D-Tools Cloud designed to hlep integrators stay organized and profitable, including an integrated inventory management module, job costing capabilities, and support for charging clients convenience fees for credit card payments.

In a statement, D-Tools CEO Randy Stearns says the system integration software company is moving beyond the basics of generating proposals, managing projects and selling service plans.

“D-Tools Cloud is now attacking head-on the toughest challenges facing system integrators – tracking inventory, assessing project profitability, and managing cash,” Stearns said. “The release of the new inventory module, job costing capabilities, and convenience fee option demonstrates our commitment to going the extra mile, and there’s a lot more to come in 2025. Hold on to your hats!”

Inventory management

The inventory management tool, now included in all D-Tools Cloud subscriptions plans, also helps integrators optimize their product purchasing for both project-specific and stock items, and bar or QR code scanning allows warehouse employees to receive items directly into inventory via a handheld device.

Rela-time item tracking helps companies stay on top of products as they move from purchasing, receiving, staging, rack assembly and delivery to the project site.

Products can also be reserved for specific projects to ensure availability, and items can also be assigned and transferred between warehouses, vans and job sites. Automated re-ordering alerts can also help integrators keep crucial items in stock when inventory is low, the company says.

Job costing

New business management reporting features in D-Tools Cloud now allows business owners to build and operate a more effective and profitable business with a job costing tool that the company says leads to a more precise labor estimation and a reduction in design oversights. The company says this can expose whether projects and their individual phases are under or over budget, and by how much.

Credit card convenience fees

To help integrators better protect their project margins, D-Tools Cloud users can now add the option to add a 3% convenience fee to client invoices when they request credit card payments. The copman says this is designed to help integrators avoid carrying the burden of processing fees and allows customers to pay without having to look up their banking information.

This feature is part of the D-Tools Payments solution within D-Tools Cloud, available to all subscribers.
