Daisy Announces Fifth Acquisition with A Shade Above

National smart space installation and services company Daisy is continuing its rapid growth-by-acquisition by acquiring A Shade Above, an integration firm specializing in motorized window dressings, lighting systems, home theaters, and more.

This deal marks Daisy’s fifth acquisition since launching in January with the Morgan Hill, Calif.-based home integration firm’s office is Daisy’s fifth location, joining the ranks of cyberManor, DAVCO, and Integrated Lifestyle Inc. The newly acquired company has 25 years in the industry, serving Silicon Valley, the greater San Francisco Bay Area, Monterey, Carmel, Lake Tahoe, and more.

According to Daisy, this move helps expand the company’s density in existing markets in California and increases its capabilities to serve its high-end customers.

“We are very excited about this best-in-class addition to the Daisy network and our nearby cyberManor location,” said Hagan Kappler, CEO and co-founder of Daisy. “Partnering with A Shade Above allows us to provide the highest quality of services to a growing community of clients, architects, designers, and contractors in the region. We are thrilled to welcome Jeff and his 14 talented team members to our growing network of industry leaders.”

Jeff Frunk, principal at A Shade Above, says becoming a part of Daisy’s national network allows the company to benefit from their comprehensive support systems.

“With resources ranging from innovative service offerings, a custom technology stack, and leading technician programs to expertise in financial support, sales and marketing, product procurement and talent recruitment, we can substantially expand on the exceptional services we’ve provided for over two decades,” Frunk says.

Although it aspires to be a national integration firm, Daisy seems focused on Northern California, as it is actively recruiting technicians and sales professionals in the area.

In addition to the new Bay Area location, Daisy operates locations in Sarasota, Fla., Los Gatos, Calif., Connecticut, North Carolina and Texas.

The company has previously said it plans to be in at least 26 markets in 2024, and wants to be nationwide in 2025.
