DMF Lighting to Showcase Artafex with DALI at CEDIA Expo 2024

Modular lighting manufacturer DMF Lighting is bringing its luxury products to the CEDIA Expo 2024 show floor, including its Artafex with DALI protocol luxury lighting solutions.

According to the Carson, Calif.-based company, introduced at Lightapalooza 2024, Artafex is designed to meet the design demands of the custom integration channel with its new DALI integrations allowing integrators to blend luxury and versatility in their projects.

Mike Libman, national sales director, says the fixture category is quickly emerging as an important segment in the industry, and CEDIA Expo should showcase this trend.

“Over time, conversations at Expo have shifted from simply understanding the importance of lighting in the industry to actively exploring how to leverage it as a key driver for maximizing revenue potential,”  Libman says.

Artafex Line Levies Industry-Leading Color Rendering Standards

According to DMF, its booth (#C911) visitors will find a company that is not just creating luxury residential lighting products, but one that is developing solutions specifically designed for integrators who are designing and installing high-end lighting systems. The company says its goal is to provide the tools and support needed to help its partners give their clients the best lighting experience possible.

The company says its True Spectrum technology for all Artafex line modules goes beyond the eight color samples that traditional CRI (Color Rendering Index) takes into account. True Spectrum considers the TM-30 system of measurement which studies 99 variations of light that aren’t typically represented in CRI to provide industry-leading color rendering and richness.

According to DMF, the company’s 2-inch Artafex modules will utilize new cross beam TIR optics that are uniquely designed with two main features: light rays are focused on the trim opening and then diverge to cover the room. The center of the optic is recessed to reduce glare, and moving the focal area near the ceiling allows most of the light rays to pass through the small aperture of a pinhole trim.

The company says this is designed to produce both high efficacy, maximum light output, and minimum clipping of the light. The new optics provide proper flood or ambient lighting and minimal glare for a comfortable living space, even with traditionally challenging pinhole trims, the company says.

Artafex premium trims are offered in Micro Flange and Flangeless options. They feature premium materials, finishes, and performance. The brass trims are machined from solid blocks of brass 360 billet and in addition to providing a beautiful aesthetic, they also reduce glare, the company says.

Artafex flangeless housing has been designed to simplify the flangeless mudding process dramatically. The dedicated flangeless housings can be installed using conventional drywall taping techniques to achieve a Level 5 finish.

DALI Unlocks a World of Potential on Artafex, Per DMF

According to DMF, these are the key features and practical benefits unlocked by DALI, and why these products are ideal for luxury home projects:

0.1% Dimming: Offers incredibly smooth dimming capabilities, enhancing the mood and atmosphere of any space.

Flexible Zoning: Allows for dynamic lighting zones that can be easily configured and adjusted, providing ultimate control over the lighting environment.

Simplified Wiring: Reduces the complexity of wiring, making installations quicker and more efficient.

Reduced Dimming Hardware: Minimizes the need for additional dimming hardware, leading to cost savings and cleaner installations.

Open Protocol: DALI is an open protocol, meaning it seamlessly integrates with your preferred lighting control system, offering versatility and ease of use for integrators.
