L-Acoustics has unveiled HYRISS (Hyperreal Immersive Sound Space), an audio solution designed to revolutionize how audio integrates into living and gathering spaces. The company says HYRISS aims to elevate the role of sound to match the importance of visual design, creating immersive environments that combine aesthetics and auditory experiences.
According to the French audio manufacturer, this new system aims to shift perceptions about the place of sound in modern design, with applications ranging from luxury homes to corporate and hospitality settings. HYRISS, launched globally, allows spaces to adapt to various auditory experiences, making sound an active participant in the environment, the company adds.
Scott Sugden, director of product management at L-Acoustics, says audio experiences have historically been secondary to visual aesthetics.
“With HYRISS, we’re changing that narrative,” Sugden says in a statement. “We’re providing designers, architects, and engineers with the tools to create spaces that are as sonically captivating as they are visually stunning, evoking profound emotions and creating exceptional experiences through the art of sound.”
The new technology, L-Acoustics says, enables full control of the sonic environment, from creating serene atmospheres for relaxation to transforming spaces into dynamic entertainment venues. It eliminates the need for dedicated media rooms by allowing a single space to effortlessly become a concert hall, sports stadium, or cinema.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
The manufacturer says HYRISS supports a wide range of audio formats, from mono to Dolby Atmos soundscapes and beyond. The high-resolution, three-dimensional network of loudspeakers can enhance voice for presentations, immerse listeners in music through chosen speakers, and dynamically adapt a space’s acoustics for various activities.
By integrating discreet in-wall speakers, high-power amplification, and advanced spatial audio processing, HYRISS delivers concert-level sound quality while maintaining aesthetic elegance, the company says. This integration allows for the creation of living spaces that engage all senses, the company adds.
L-Acoustics says HYRISS leverages there core technologies from the company:
L-ISA precisely positions instruments in space to mimic live concert settings.
Ambiance uses sensing microphones and the L-ISA Processor II to transform room acoustics.
Anima utilizes advanced algorithms and machine learning to localize, spatialize, separate, and immerse audio content beyond its original design.
The true magic of HYRISS lies in its unparalleled flexibility. A space equipped with HYRISS can effortlessly transition between various acoustic environments, from a serene atmosphere for relaxation or meditation to a dynamic entertainment space, ensuring that the auditory environment always matches the intended use of the space and the desired emotional impact.
“HYRISS transforms static spaces into dynamic experiences, matching the mood of every occasion and creating a true temple for sound,” Sugden adds. “With HYRISS, every space becomes a stage for extraordinary auditory experiences, capable of stirring deep emotions and creating lasting memories.”
L-Acoustics says HYRISS installations are only created by certified experts and system integrators in collaboration with end users to define desired experiences, operational conditions and budget for a personalized solution for each space. The HYRISS solution is now available for custom installations.
