Deako, a residential, modular smart lighting system provider, has strengthened its commitment to smart home controls, announcing full compatibility with Home Assistant, effective immediately.
The company states that the new integration solidifies its commitment to an open smart home ecosystem and enables Deako system owners to experience enhanced home automation with expanded reach for controls and other devices.
Deako’s other integrations include support for Alarm.com, Alexa, Google, Samsung SmartThings, Control4, and Clare Controls.
With this, Deako asserts it is giving homeowners an additional layer of customization and personalization for their home environments.
“At Deako, we are dedicated to transforming how people connect with their homes,” says Derek Richardson, CEO and founder of Deako.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
“With Deako’s new compatibility with Home Assistant, we’re taking a significant step towards our goal of making customizable smart homes more accessible and easier to use for all homeowners. This new integration will be essential in further empowering homeowners and elevating their experiences by making their use of smart lighting effortlessly controllable.”
This new functionality solves a key challenge for smart home enthusiasts, according to Deako: The need for reliable and versatile control of their lighting systems.
Via the Home Assistant interface, homeowners can easily discover and control their Deako devices.
After updating or installing their Home Assistant hub, users can automatically detect their Deako products on their Wi-Fi network. Home Assistant enables Deako devices to have deep integration with Apple Home, Hue, Zigbee, and a multitude of other products and services, the company notes.
“Deako’s commitment to an open smart home aligns perfectly with the principles of the Open Home Foundation,” adds Richardson.
“Our integration with Home Assistant reflects our dedication to providing homeowners with choices, allowing them to upgrade their lighting solutions without incurring expensive installation costs.”
Another indication of Deako’s commitment to smart home lighting was the company’s recent announcement of a three-year contract with builder Maronda Homes. Last year, it formed a partnership with New Home Co.
With the Maronda Homes agreement, homeowners will receive five premium specialty switches — two Smart Switches, two Smart Dimmers, and one Motion Sensor Switch — which will be automatically integrated into their new home. This gives homeowners immediate access to the Deako modular system with plug-and-play light switches
