U.K.-based audio manufacturer Monitor Audio is launching its new Gold Series 6G loudspeaker line of six distinctive loudspeakers designed to be flexible and user friendly while retaining the company’s high audio quality standards.
This new range of loudspeakers, which marks the sixth generation of the Gold Series, are designed to offer significant enhancements in sound quality and design, aimed at both audiophiles and home cinema enthusiasts, the company says.
The Gold Series 6G consists of six distinct models: the Gold 500 6G, Gold 300 6G, Gold 100 6G, Gold 50 6G, Gold On-Wall 6G, and Gold C250 6G. Each model is designed to cater to a specific audio need, from high-fidelity listening to versatile home theater setups.
One of the standout features of the Gold Series 6G is the introduction of Hexagonal Diaphragm Technology (HDT), a new metal cone technology developed by Monitor Audio. HDT is designed to improve sound clarity by disrupting symmetrical patterns in the cone’s breakup, resulting in a more precise frequency response. The company says this technology is an evolution of the RDT III cones used in Monitor Audio’s flagship Platinum Series and the innovative Hyphn speakers.
According to Monitor Audio, the new HDT cones are constructed using the company’s proprietary Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Magnesium (C-CAM) material. According to the company, this material offers greater strength and durability compared to standard aluminum designs, leading to a more piston-like movement of the cones. This technology has been applied across the entire range of the Gold Series 6G, including in the newly developed 3-inch mid-frequency drivers and the 6- and 8-inch bass drivers.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
Monitor Audio says the Gold Series 6G introduces a range of design enhancements aimed at improving both aesthetics and functionality, such as cabinets that have been engineered to provide a rigid structure to help minimize vibration. The placement of the high-frequency transducers has also been optimized to reduce edge diffraction, the company says.
According to the company, the speakers can come in a new man-made ebony veneer, which the company claims has a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional wood veneers. The loudspeakers are available in three finishes: High-Gloss Black, Satin White, and the new man-made Ebony Veneer.
Monitor Audio is marketing the new range to both dedicated audiophiles and those seeking premium sound quality for home theater systems.
