Custom-crafted for its owners, who are avid Disney movie fans and particularly enamored with 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the Nautilus is theater experience themed around aquatic exploration and created by Lifestyle Solutions and CUSTOM WORKS AV.
The jaw-dropping Nautilus theater project stands out for Lifestyle Solutions’ exceptional blend of thematic design, cutting-edge technology, and collaborative expertise.
“It reflects our dedication to creating bespoke, immersive environments that exceed client expectations and set new benchmarks in home theater experiences,” says Lifestyle Solutions’ Behzad Sarwar.
To do so, one of the primary hurdles was translating the client’s unique vision into a fully realized themed home theater that would look and feel like they were journeying aboard the Nautilus, he adds.
“This involved extensive research, consultations, and multiple design iterations to ensure that every aspect of the theater — ranging from décor to layout — aligned perfectly with their imaginative theme. For instance, to better understand the vision we delved deeply into the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea film,” Sarwar says.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
“This immersion helped us capture the essence of the theme, ensuring the final design was both visually captivating and a true reflection of the client’s preferences.”
Another major challenge, Sarwar says, was integrating advanced, high-performance AV technology into the Nautilus theater without disrupting the thematic design. Sarwar notes that high-performance sound and visual equipment are crucial for creating an immersive experience, but their placement and visibility required meticulous planning.
To address this, Lifestyle Solutions partnered with frequent collaborator CUSTOM WORKS AV, who were tasked with designing and installing the AV technology for the Nautilus theater.
“Our goal was to achieve a balance where the technology was both effective and unobtrusive,” Sarwar explains.
“CUSTOM WORKS AV employed innovative design solutions to discreetly conceal speakers, projectors, and other components, ensuring they harmonized with the thematic elements while delivering top-notch audio and visual quality.”
In the end, the partnership produced an imaginative, fun theater space that also delivers commercial-quality performance.
Toward that end, Lifestyle’s spec list includes a Sony VPLXW5000ES laser projector, Seymour Screen Excellence 120-inch Neo Enlightor acoustic screen, 16 Triad In-Wall and In-Ceiling Bronze speakers, JL Audio 12-inch subwoofer, 4K Apple TV, URC controls, and Octane Seating.
“The collaboration between Lifestyle Solutions and CUSTOM WORKS AV brought together decades of combined experience in design and AV technology,” says Sarwar. “Our extensive background in crafting immersive environments allowed us to turn the client’s vision into a stunning reality.”
