Smart home management company Nice is launching its Nice Sun Shades Power and Control Panel, a new interface designed to provide an efficient approach to motorized shading.
According to Nice, the new Sun Shades Power and Control Panel is designed to support a wide variety of shading configurations, and includes a DMDM module that supports up to 50 motors for large-scale installations, a DMBD GW module that manages up to 30 bidirectional radio channels, and a DMPBD module to support power distribution across connected components.
The Carlsbad, Calif.-based manufacturer says it will provide hands-on training and in-field assistance to dealers deploying the system. The panel also integrates with home automation platforms from Crestron, Savant, and Control4.
The company says the Sun Shades Power and Control Panel meets the demand for motorized shades, as shades were included in 89% of residential projects in 2023. That number might not be too far off, as according to CE Pro‘s own research into shade controls in 2024, only 11% of dealers reported projects where shades were not included.

Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
The launch of the Nice Sun Shades Power and Control Panel expands on the company’s robust offering in the shading industry and comes after the company launched its first line of smart sun shades last year. Nice says that launch helped establish the company as a unique provider of both motors, sun shades and hardware.
Now with the Nice Sun Shades Power and Control Panel, partners gain access to an “end-to-end solution” that combines Nice motors with its control technology.
