Three years ago Sonos introduced its small footprint Roam portable loudspeaker. Revamping the lifestyle-friendly solution Sonos has announced its new Roam 2 product.
The new version of the portable speaker incorporates two Class-H digital amplifiers that are specifically designed for use with the product, which utilizes a single midrange driver and a single tweeter driver array. Sonos points out the Roam 2 also incorporates a far-field microphone for beamforming and multi-channel echo cancellation for accurate voice control and the company’s proprietary Trueplay automatic equalization (EQ) capabilities.
Some of the other features the new Sonos Roam 2 portable speaker offers users include manual EQ options through adjustable bass, treble and loudness controls, and a sound swap option that allows users to hold the play/pause button to send audio between the new portable speaker and the closet Sonos product in a homeowner’s system.
The new speaker like its predecessor can be used in the home or as a portable speaker to provide audio entertainment on the go.
Outlining some of the features the compact, all-purpose speaker offers, Sonos points out the Roam 2 offers a number of benefits that include:
