Russound to Bring New Amps, Streamers, Soundbar to ISE 2025

Russound has announced it will be bringing its new amplifiers with a built-in streamer and pre-amplifiers with steamers to ISE 2025 in Barcelona next month.

What Products Will Russound Show at ISE 2025?

The Portsmouth, N.H.-based maker of premium audio solutions will be showcasing its new SMZ8 Controller Amplifier with Built-in Streamer, as well as its new SMZ16-PRE 16×16 matrix pre-amplifier with a built-in high-res audio stream.

According to the company, the SMZ8 is an 8-source/8-zone controller amplifier that comes with a built-in high-res audio streamer with all the popular sources and support for both AirPlay and Google Cast. The amplifier delivers 50 watts per channel, and scalable up to 48 zones, making it ideal for larger installations. It also includes advanced DSP features like Russound speaker presets and a seven-band graphic EQ.

The SMZ16-PRE 16×16 is a matrix pre-amplifier with a built-in high-res audio stream. It features 16 stereo inputs, which can be used in any combination of up to 16 analog, six digital optical, or four digital coax inputs. Though 16×16, the SMZ16-PRE is expandable up to 16×48 for added flexibility.

Both the SMZ8 and the SMZ16-PRE boast an HDMI input (ARC) for connecting to a TV or video source with low latency synchronization to avoid lip-sync issues and integrated DSP with a seven-band graphical EQ with built-in presets for Russound speakers. Both are controllable with Russound’s XTS7 wall-mounted color touchscreen, IPK-1 single-gang IP keypad, or the Russound App.

The Cinema Bar 3.0 Makes a Return from CEDIA Expo

In addition to its new multiroom audio products, Russound will also showcase its Cinema Bar 3.0 and D-Series Multichannel Digital Amplifiers.

Debuting at CEDIA Expo 2024, the Cinema Bar 3.0 is a passive soundbar designed for wall-mounted TVs of at least 65 inches. The soundbar features 100 watts MS power handling per channel and comes with three 4-inch full-range drivers, three 1-inch tweeters, and three 4-inch passive radiators.

The D-Series amps are designed to reduce the size of the amplifiers while boosting their feature set. The amp series uses a smaller chassis size than in any previous generation of Russound amplifiers while delivering powerful audio. The 16-channel D1675 is 2RU high and delivers 75 watts per channel. Other models include the eight-channel D890 and the 12-channel D1290 (now available), both 1RU in height.

Russound will be exhibiting at ISE 2025 in Booth 2L500.
