Schneider Electric 60 Amp Square D Control Relay Aids Energy Savings

As more and more homeowners seek to save on their electricity bills, one of the hottest categories in custom integration is the power/energy management sector. One of the global leaders in that category, Schneider Electric, has launched more solutions for integrators with the launch of its 60 Amp Square D Control Relay offer.

What Does the New 60 Amp Square D Control Relay Do?

This new 60 Amp Square D Control Relay expands Schneider Electric’s control relay portfolio, delivering enhanced functionality, app-based control, and energy monitoring for larger loads, including induction cooktops, electric ranges, and EV chargers, according to the company.

Integrated into Schneider Electric’s QO Smart Panel Solution, this new product is said to bolster the performance of the Smart Panel via the ability to easily add functionality to new and existing electrical systems, Schneider says.

The QO Smart Panel Solution, including the full line of Square D Control Relays and the Schneider Energy Monitor, connects through the Schneider Home app to offer homeowners nationwide energy monitoring and control. The company says the system is tailored to clients’ needs at a significantly lower cost than other options.

“The home’s electrical system needs to evolve to meet the changing needs of today’s homeowners and the growing challenges of our aging electrical grid,” says Marta Asack, senior vice president, Home & Distribution North America, Schneider Electric.

“As the shift to more efficient electrical home appliances continues, electrical systems need to not only accommodate, but easily manage the functionality, safety, and energy use of these new, larger loads. Now, our easy-to-install QO Smart Panel solution empowers homeowners when adding heat pumps, EV chargers, and other larger loads, by meeting those changing needs.”

New Schneider Electric Solution Offers Energy Savings

Integrating the QO Smart Panel Solution allows any homeowner to tap into the smart panel benefits of Schneider Home including system-wide energy monitoring and circuit-level-control, to save energy and enhance safety, the company says.

Schneider Electric adds that whether dealers are updating clients’ existing Square D QO Plug-on Neutral electrical panel or installing a new panel, homeowners can inexpensively add smart functionality only where it’s needed to better manage energy usage.

Available at electrical distributors nationwide, the Square D Control Relays are designed to snap directly onto the Square D QO Plug-on Neutral breakers, while the Schneider Energy Monitor can be added directly into the panel at the same time, the company explains.

Commissioning for both devices can be done swiftly through the app, Schneider adds, enabling the homeowner to monitor and control their energy use from their mobile device.

Last year, Schneider Electric expanded functionality of its solutions by adding Matter compatibility to the X Series of connected outlets, light switches and dimmers.
