Screen Innovations Announces Restructuring of Sales and Support Teams

Projection screen and window treatment and shading manufacturer Screen Innovations (SI) announced it is restructuring its sales and support teams to strengthen its dealer offerings for its shading and screen business. The move comes amid a broader transition from as the company moves from selling exclusively projection screens to a projection screen and window covering business.

As part of the restructuring, SI will bring its sales and dealer support in-house to reduce silos and better manage the company’s growth aspirations for its shading business.

SI Says Shifting Business Goals Necessitate Shift in Support Approach

The company says its window coverings expansion is necessitating a shift in its high-touch support approach and it wants to be “fully engaged to properly specify, sell and support” products such as Origami Angular, Kaos outdoor high-wind solutions, Drapery and Romans, and Niño.

The Austin, Texas-based company says sales of its shade units have doubled annually, and the company wants to expand its design services, which now cover more than 80% of all indoor and outdoor shade projects. This will require technical sales managers to help train, specify, measure, install and support dealers on projects.

SI is also integrating customer service software ZenDesk to help address customer issues. Dealers can also leverage the solution’s built-in AI tools to access SI’s instructions on mobile devices while on job sites.

First Results of SI’s Restructuring to Be Seen Early Next Year

According to SI, the company beginning Jan. 1, will direct service all SI U.S. dealerships for sales, bids/proposals, technical support and customer service. In a statement, the company extends its gratitude to sales representatives for the success of Screen Innovations’ brand.

Kim Parker, CEO of SI, called these changes, including bringing outside sales and dealer support in-house, “business critical” to strengthen the company’s infrastructure and to control and manage growth.

“It is difficult to let your friends know they will no longer be needed, but we are confident this is the best way to take our window covering business and organization to the next level,” Parker said.

“It is not only about our amazing range of products, but also about developing deeper relationships with our business partners by providing the best service and support. Our priority is to strengthen our brand and make our dealer partners the heroes of what we do.”

The company says it is in the process of hiring sales and technical support staff during the transition.

Earlier this year, SI also reported it will be re-tooling its production line, in an effort to expand its warehousing footprint for faster access to its products. The company also released the Matestro 2 acoustically transparent projection screen, as well as its CarbonBlack Tech screen material, alongside the aforementioned Origami and Kaos shades, all four of which are now available for purchase.
