Sol-Lux Debuts at CEDIA Expo 2024 with Mirage, Freedom Smart Awnings

Sol-Lux, a subsidiary of Carefree of Colorado with over 50 years of awning manufacturing experience, has announced its first-time exhibition at the 2024 CEDIA Expo, taking place at the Denver Convention Center in Denver, Colo. on September 5-7, 2024.

Sol-Lux will showcase its complete product suite, including the stylish and intelligent Mirage and Freedom patio awnings, and the fully autonomous EOS window awning.

Motorized window treatments, lighting, and outdoor living present ever-growing opportunities for dealers. Sol-Lux awnings support this initiative with our exterior shading solutions that focus on quality craftsmanship, future-forward technology, compatibility with other home systems, and stylish designs that enhance a home’s exterior aesthetic. Our products can be leveraged as an entry sale to sell additional home systems to their clientele,” says Steve Brous, national sales program manager, Sol-Lux.

Sol-Lux Products Enable Smart Home Outdoor Lifestyles

Sol-Lux’s Mirage and Freedom patio awnings utilize Somfy motorization, which can function as standalone awnings using the Somfy Situo Remote or integrate seamlessly with third-party home automation systems when adding the Somfy Tahoma Hub. The Colo.-based company’s flagship Mirage patio awning is enhanced with dimmable LED lighting, available in 2700K or 6000K, adding ambient lighting to any outdoor space. These patio awnings span up to 21-foot widths and offer up to 12-feet of sun protection coverage, depending on the model selected.

The EOS window awning requires zero user interaction, operating autonomously by adjusting based on sun exposure, wind, and temperature sensitivities set at configuration. It is solar-powered and battery-operated, promoting energy efficiency. Manual operation and setup can be managed through the Sol-Lux app.

The EOS awning is available in widths up to 120 inches with a 45-degree angle pitch, effectively blocking the sun when needed most without compromising the exterior view. By blocking the sun during peak hours, the EOS awning helps maintain interior temperatures, reducing the run time of a home’s HVAC system and further improving overall energy efficiency.

All Sol-Lux awnings the company emphasizes, feature advanced integrated sensors that offer additional protection by safely retracting the awnings during extreme winds or inclement weather. Both patio and window awnings are customizable in size, motor location (patio awnings only), cassette colors, and Sunbrella or Recasens (Mirage and Freedom only) marine-grade acrylic textile color options, enhancing their stylish aesthetic. The battery-operated Freedom and EOS models do not require an electrician, making installation and servicing straightforward and efficient for installers.

The company notes that Brous will lead Sol-Lux’s custom installation market efforts, and it points out the industry veteran brings extensive experience with dealers and the design-build industry to his role as national sales program manager.

Sol-Lux adds that its product line is manufactured in Bloomfield, Colo., and it backs the product line with 5-year manufacturer warranties. Supporting dealers even further, the company stresses that its products are available to order now with a four-week lead time.

CEDIA attendees can visit Sol-Lux at booth #3319 during CEDIA Expo 2024 to see the Mirage, Freedom, and EOS awnings in action. Moreover, Sol-Lux is also interested in meeting with prospective manufacturer sales representatives nationwide and distribution partners for Canada and LATAM.
