Next week marks the beginning of CEDIA Expo 2024 and amidst all the excitement, Sonance has a plethora of new products and services it plans to release while at the show, including some new small aperture speakers and an outdoor audio line under the James Loudspeaker brand being labeled Mariner MX, as well as a revamped website.
Sonance and its family of brands, which includes James Loudspeaker, IPORT, and TRUFIG, will be showcasing these new solutions, and more, at booth #3501 during CEDIA Expo at the Colorado Convention Center.
Sonance will also be showcasing its solutions in an all-new ‘immersive music experience’ that will be demonstrated every 15 minutes while at the show and is modeled after similar demonstrations the manufacturer has at its Sonance Studio in San Clemente, CA.

Perhaps the biggest highlight coming from Sonance is the introduction of a new set of outdoor speakers through its James Loudspeaker brand. Described as “the ultimate solution for mounting audio in outdoor spaces” the Mariner MX lineup features minimalistic aesthetics contrasting some beefed-up engineering that represents a complete overhaul of 25-year legacy Mariner series.
“Our mission has always been to create audio solutions that disappear into the design while delivering superior sound quality,” said Skylar Gray, Director of Product Management at Sonance.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
“With Mariner MX, we’ve engineered for superior dispersion and detail by using the new Sonance Waveguide technology that will take this category to a new level.”
The Mariner MX lineup features Sinusoidal Textured Waveguide technology and Sonance VX transducers, which the company notes help balance audio dispersion and enhance clarity when used in an outdoor setting.
The speakers are also surface-mountable and feature a secure grille attachment to help maintain its sleek appearance while also being sufficiently protected from outdoor elements.
Additionally, Sonance will showcase the Sonance Invisible Subwoofer, new Sonance Visual Experience SST and LCR products, James built-to-order SPL soundbars, an enhanced James 853QT, and brand-new Sonance & James Finish Boards alongside the new Mariner MX series.
Sonance’s TRUFIG brand also has a new mounting solution for Crestron Horizon keypads to show off at the show. Being able to be installed in gypsum, marble, wood, stone, and other solid surfaces, Sonance states the solution allows for keypads and other technological interfaces to match perfectly with other architectural elements in the home.

On the software front, Sonance will also unlock new modules for their 2023 CEDIA “Best New Software” winner, the Sonance Design Gallery, in addition to unveiling a completely redesigned website experience on Sonance.com, as well as a fully functional my.Sonance.com platform with added configuration enhancements.
One of the bigger features of the new site, Sonance notes, is the complete integration of the James Loudspeaker catalog onto the site.
