TCL has announced its latest home entertainment solutions, including its new QM6K TV–the first installment in the company’s Precise Dimming Series–at the 2025 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
The company states that its new televisions incorporate its most advanced technologies for premium QLED TVs to provide improved performance across a big screen lineup that include several true, large-screen size models, highlighted by its TCL its QD-Mini LED-based QM6K TV.
“I’m proud to say that TCL secured its position as top 2 best-selling TV brand for the sixth consecutive year and just received a 2025 Circana Consumer Electronics Performance Award for Top Increase in TV Market Share in North America. On the heels of such a successful year, 2025 will take us to new heights as a dominant player in the CE industry, continuously changing the game with TCL’s groundbreaking innovation,” says Chris Hamdorf, executive vice president, TCL North America.
Hamdorf also noted that the company will be “doubling down on QLED, QD-Mini LED and XXL screen sizes” as consumer preferences continue to tilt towards bigger TVs for their homes.
According to TCL, the QD-Mini LED technology behind the new 2025 QM6K TV stems directly from its own Pangu Lab, which is where the company conducts Mini-LED backlight development from conceptualization and R&D to design and materials, as well as component creation, and full system trial production.
As a custom integrator, lighting is in demand. Effective communication, education and showcasing the value proposition of LED light fixtures in conjunction with integrative control systems are the keys to overcoming challenges and closing sales in this specialized market.

Reportedly, the facility has developed the new Super High Energy LED Chip–which increases brightness output by more than 53% in TCLs 2025 models, while also increasing light efficiency by 10%–as well as a new Condensed Micro Lens for more precise light control.
The new QM6K TV also employs redesigned backlight systems that reduce optical distance, or OD, between the backlight and diffuser plate, which works to eliminate the halo effect–or blooming–that may be common on LCD-type displays. The result, according to TCL, is clear, sharp edges, even between the brightest white and darkest black, with a new Color Optimization Algorithm being added to sharpen colors as well.
The QM6K’s backlight technology also works in conjunction with a high contrast CSOT HVA Panel that has a better dark state to block out more of the light when the LCD closes, providing up to a 7,000:1 static contrast.
The new Quantum Dot Technology also provides up to 98%+ of DCI-P3 color gamut, with a touted lifespan of 100,000 viewing hours.
Apart from the newer video technology, the QM6K will also feature an Onkyo 2.1 Speaker system, part of the latter company’s renewed focus on becoming a mainstay in consumer home entertainment. The new TVs are also getting Dolby Vision Filmmaker Mode, which, like the upcoming LG evo OLEDs, will allow the TV to ambiently adjust picture settings based on light presence in a room.
Other features of the TCL QM6K include:
In the announcement for TCL’s Precise Dimming Series, the company also stressed the strength of signal processing in creating a better viewing experience for its audience.
One of the newer advancements the company chose to highlight was what it calls “Zero-Delay Transient Response.” This feature TCL states, helps create higher peak brightness without any after image by aiming for virtually no lag between the input signal and backlight response.
TCL has also upgraded its new TVs to a Bi-directional 23-bit Backlight Controller, allowing granular control of over 65,000 levels of brightness for each LED. In addition, TCL includes a new Dynamic Light Algorithm, which optimizes the incoming video signal so that SDR signals render at near HDR level, regardless of the content metadata.
“When it comes to Mini LED, no other brand is as completely vertically integrated as TCL. For 2025, we will fully leverage our extensive hardware and processing expertise to create a truly next gen QD-Mini LED system,” adds Scott Ramirez, VP, product marketing and development, home theater, TCL.
“Every aspect of TCL’s new Halo Control Technology Suite has been carefully created and curated to provide stunning picture quality, and our first QM6K Series will now redefine the term ‘Affordable Premium’.”
The QM6K Series will be available in a 50-inch screen size for $749.99 MSRP, as well as a 55-inch for $799.99 MSRP; a 65-inch for $999.99 MSRP, a 75-inch model for $1,299.99, a 85-inch for $1,999.99, and what the company calls its XXL, a 98-inch big screen TV for $3,499.99.
