Displaying an impressive blend of elegance, rustic charm and inviting simplicity, this incredible 12,000-square-foot home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina is powered by the best of custom integration provided by Fusion Audio + Video, resulting in effortless convenience, entertainment, comfort, and peace of mind.
The homeowners’ unyielding vision for their home automation tested the Fusion team’s abilities, according to Fusion AV’s Heidi Mulford. During the four years from design to finish, the project experienced production delays due to Covid, and Savant and Lutron product and licensing changes necessitated additional training, workarounds and redesigns.
The Fusion techs worked tirelessly into late evening hours to program and reprogram over 100 Lutron lighting scenes deliver customized brightness for every occasion, notes Mulford.
To accommodate the RoseWater Energy Hub system, the builder faced challenges in retrofitting the home’s structure with fortification to withstand the weight of the unit and ensure adequate space for cleaning around the system. This meant, at the installation phase, Fusion and RoseWater technicians partnered together to bring the system into the home piece by piece.
Personalized lighting scenes with the Lutron QSX system in every room set the mood for entertaining and relaxation. Samsung Terrace TVs outside and Sony TVs inside are fully distributed with fiber and Savant 10Gb AVOIP.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
Surveillance zones are configured to capture footage of the wildlife that can be seen on the grounds daily. Music is also set up to flood the grounds while the homeowners are present, from the billiard room to the dog park with 22 zones of audio distribution.
The Savant control system enables flawless, intuitive operation of every system component. In the event of power outages, a RoseWater Energy system automatically supplies continuous power conditioning and includes large scale battery storage.
“This project demonstrates that focused vision and attention to detail can produce the ultimate integrated technology experience without sacrificing a home’s aesthetic, a hallmark of the Fusion tailored approach,” Mulford says.
“Immaculate design and implementation of décor and technology combine to realize the homeowners’ vision of providing themselves and their guests the ability to enjoy the property on their terms.”
