Victrola Firmware Update Enables Wireless Vinyl Streaming to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Components

The century-old name in home audio, Victrola, has announced a major software update that it says will push the boundaries of the modern vinyl experience for its Victrola Stream turntables.

“This update is a major step forward in our mission to blend the warmth of vinyl with the convenience of modern wireless audio,” says Scott Hagen, CEO of Victrola. “The Victrola Stream turntables have been the best option for Sonos users, and now we’re extending that same effortless streaming experience to even more audio ecosystems. Vinyl lovers can now enjoy premium wireless flexibility without compromise.”

Victrola Wireless Streaming Now Works with an Expanded Selection of Components

The company points out the previously designed exclusively for seamless integration with the Sonos ecosystem, the Victrola Stream line is now even more versatile through the newly announced update. Rolling out automatically to all Victrola Stream Carbon, Onyx, and Pearl turntables, and previously to Stream Sapphire turntables, this over-the-air firmware update introduces three significant new connectivity options, according to the company:

  • VINYLSTREAM Wi-Fi (UPnP): Stream vinyl wirelessly to UPnP-enabled audio devices, including speakers, A/V receivers, HiFi streamers, smart TVs, and other Wi-Fi products from brands like KEF, JBL, Sony, Samsung, WiiM, Denon, Marantz, and more.
  • Bluetooth Output: Victrola says that homeowners can benefit from increased flexibility by streaming directly to Bluetooth speakers and headphones, bringing high-quality wireless audio to any space.
  • Roon Ready Relay: Stream vinyl in up to 24-bit/48kHz lossless FLAC to any Roon endpoint to offer homeowners a modern high-fidelity vinyl experience.

Victrola emphasizes the automatic software update will be deployed to all existing and future Victrola Stream Carbon, Onyx, Pearl, and Sapphire turntables, requiring no manual installation. Existing users will see the update applied automatically, and in the app, where they would typically select a default Sonos speaker, they will now find toggles for additional options, including Bluetooth. The app also provides simple instructions for switching between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth using the knob.
