Vizio is releasing its MicMe, a new home soundbar that doubles as a customizable karaoke system thanks to two wireless microphones.
The $349.99 MicMe is first a soundbar, featuring Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies for powerful bass and room-filling audio for a home entertainment setup.
With Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies bringing powerful bass and room-filling sound to MicMe, users can transform any living space into their own movie theater, or concert venue. The soundbar features a matte frost white finish with premium gray fabric, and also comes with a compact wireless subwoofer.
However, it’s more than just a consumer-grade soundbar, as the wireless microphones and an integrated MicMe Karaoke app with access to over 85,000 karaoke songs turns the soundbar into a full-fledged karaoke system.
Users can also use their favorite music or karaoke apps directly from the attached smart TV, or stream via Bluetooth.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
According to Vizio, the wireless microphones feature a satin finish and colorful ambient light that changes according to users’ voice levels. Users can adjust settings directly on the mic or control advanced settings in the Vizio mobile app, which offers six voice enhancements and nine ambient color options for the microphone.
The microphones have up to eight hours of battery life, and when they’re placed back on the charging dock, the soundbar continues to support TV audio without any additional steps, the company says.
“With the same excellence and innovation that customers have come to expect from VIZIO, MicMe reimagines the way users can experience karaoke, bringing together the entire family and friends through a new approach to entertainment,” said John Schindler, Vice President of Product Management at VIZIO.
“We are excited to welcome MicMe to the VIZIO lineup and look forward to seeing users transform the way they host parties and spend time with their loved ones with this new entertainment experience.”
The MicMe will be available online at retailers including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Best Buy, Amazon and Target.
