If custom integrators are on the hunt for a unique loudspeaker option that will wow their clients with a very different aesthetic, they can stop by the Selective Design booth to experience Waterfall Audio at CEDIA Expo 2024.
The French company, which showed its impressive wares to the European market during ISE 2024 in Barcelona, will highlight its Niagara XT range of floorstanding loudspeakers to booth #2647.
That’s where Selective Design, Waterfall Audio’s exclusive U.S. and Canadian distributor, will be based at this year’s CEDIA Expo (Sept. 5-7) at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
Between its stunning style and high performance, the Niagara XT series marks a dramatic shift in design and performance for contemporary loudspeakers, the company comments.
“We have created a beautiful new series for luxury home cinema, media room and hi-fi projects, using all our expertise in loudspeaker aesthetics, materials and performance,” says Cedric Aubriot, CEO and founder of Waterfall Audio.
Lightapalooza took place in late February, and the growth of the event has mirrored the rapid ascension lighting fixtures and controls.
“Niagara XT loudspeakers will provide a striking addition to any interior and deliver audio of magical precision and quality that will delight integrators, interior designers and their clients for many years to come. We warmly welcome all CEDIA Expo visitors to the Selective Design booth to experience for themselves this significant breakthrough in loudspeaker design and technology.”
The Niagara XT Series features three brand-new models that produce a clear, richly detailed and powerful sound, according to the company.
Contained within a fully transparent platinum safety glass enclosure (XT2 and XT3: 0.39 inches thick; XT1: 0.24 inches thick), the Niagara XT Series should delight customers and designers. The products produce subtly reflecting and refracting sunbeams throughout the day in natural light, Waterfall Audio notes.
Custom built mid/bass Atohm drivers appear as if they are suspended in mid-air and are under-pinned by an ultra-low frequency 8.3 inches passive driver in a down-firing position in the solid, CNC-cut, brushed tapered aluminum base.
Selective Design booth visitors at CEDIA Expo will also be able to see how the drivers in the Niagara XT Series incorporate JETSTREAM damping technology, developed in-house by Waterfall Audio, to maximize performance and ensure decoupling of the mid-bass driver from the glass structure.
JETSTREAM helps yield deeper and faster bass with a smoother response in the mid and high range, optimized heat dissipation, and control of the rear wave on the cone, the company describes.
Internally, the Niagara XT1 and XT2 each feature a signature wood horn tweeter. The XT1 (991mm height x 250mm width x 281mm depth / 400w output) and larger XT2 (1169mm x 300mm x 346mm / 500w output) are available in a Classic version with an oiled beech wood tweeter finish.
An Exclusive option is to customize with alternative wood finishes, such as walnut, to suit the tastes of the client and/or designer.
Offering an infinite variety of colors, textures, grains, the wood is individually selected, paired and matched for each speaker. Other materials could also be chosen to further customize the tweeters of the XT1 and XT2.
